Organic Lollipops: What to Look for on the Label

The organic candy market has grown fast. Not every product with "organic" on the label is made the same way. Here's what actually matters when you're choosing organic fruit candy.

Look for the certification, not just the word

"Organic" on a package means nothing without a certification body behind it. In the US, that's USDA Organic. In the EU, it's the EU Organic logo. Without one of these, the claim isn't regulated. YumEarth carries USDA Organic certification — one of the highest standards globally.

Colors: fruit juice or synthetic dye?

A candy can be organic but still use synthetic colorants. FD&C dyes like Red 40 and Yellow 5 are not allowed under USDA Organic certification, but some brands use "natural" dyes that are still chemically extracted. YumEarth uses organic fruit and vegetable juice concentrates — strawberry, carrot, purple sweet potato, turmeric — as both colorants and flavor contributors.

Allergen profile

Organic doesn't automatically mean allergen-free. Check for wheat, soy, tree nuts, and dairy — common in organic candy processing. YumEarth lollipops are free from the top 9 allergens, making them one of the few organic fruit candies safe for classrooms and kids with multiple restrictions.

Ingredient count

A short ingredient list is usually a good sign. YumEarth Classic Lollipops contain: organic cane sugar, organic tapioca syrup, citric acid, organic fruit and vegetable juice (color), natural flavors, vitamin C. Six to eight ingredients. You can read every one of them.
